Does anyone have or remember seeing the Renault Caravelle in the U.S.?
Renault was the two seater hardtop convertible with the engine in the rear, and it was known in the U.S. Caravelle as a souvenir. My family had a model of 1965 years ago when we lived in South Carolina. Our car was a gray blue with a black interior was later painted black. The removable hardtop was cool, but a little heavy as I recall. I also had a soft top too. I remember it was a fun car cruising around the top down, it worked well but was slow and quite annoying, many electrical problems, I remember. My family for years, but some jerk shot the car many times when stored in a barn on the farm when they were out for the summer after he moved to Texas, so that was the end of it like glass and every body panel had numerous holes in it. It compleely shattered and ruined by gunfire! Sad but true. Does anyone else remember these cars?
